Recycling

Do you know what to throw? Recycle right by following these simple rules.

Follow these simple recycling rules to recycle right and help ensure recycling doesn’t end up trash.

  • Recycle your empty, clean and dry bottles, jars, cans, boxes, cartons and papers only.
  • Keep all plastic bags out of the recycling cart.
  • Keep your recycling loose in the blue cart.
  • DO NOT place food, liquids, diapers, hoses, wires, batteries, propane tanks, or to-go containers in the blue cart.
  • Plastics #1 - #5 and #7 are accepted. NO plastic bags, wrap, or Styrofoam.
  • When in doubt, throw it out. If an item is not listed on the Acceptable Materials page, DO NOT place it in the recycling.

Throwing things that aren’t recycling into your recycling cart in hopes that they will be recycled can turn recycling into trash.
